Local Arkansas man pleads guilty to manufacture of meth

Most of Monday's activity in Arkansas Northern District Circuit Court involved setting pre-trial and jury-trial dates, but one defendant agreed to a plea bargain in a case involving the manufacture of a controlled substance and received 180 months (15 years) in the Arkansas Department of Corrections.

Gary Spradlin, represented, by defender Dennis Molock reversed an earlier not-guilty plea and pleaded guilty to the manufacture of methamphetamines which carried a sentence of 180 months, or 15 years, in the DOC.

The plea bargaining agreement also read that Spradlin would not be required to serve 70 percent of that sentence, which could make him eligible for parole in less time served.

In other Arkansas cases:

Henry asked McCastle if he was employed and he said no. When Henry asked McCastle about his last place of employment, the defendant said he could not remember, adding that he works off and on.
