Beverly Sentenced to 80 Years on Drug Charges in Arkansas

An Ashley County, Arkansas jury found a Crossett, Arkansas man guilty Wednesday, January 14, on three drug-related charges.

Andre Beverly, 42, 809 Kentucky St., Crossett, Arkansas was sentenced two concurrent 40 year terms with the Arkansas Department of Corrections (DOC) and one 10 year concurrent term, for a total of 80 years with the DOC.

Beverly was arrested by Crossett, Arkansas police May 28, 2003, following a twoweek undercover drug operation. He was charged, and convicted, of two counts of delivery of controlled substance (crack cocaine) and one count of possession of controlled substance (crack cocaine) with intent to deliver. He was sentenced to 40 years on each of the delivery charges (for a total of 80 years) and 10 years on the possession charge.

Arkansas police executed a search warrant on May 28 at Beverly's residence at approximately 10:30 p.m., but he was not home. Arkansas police were given information that he was at 508A Arkansas St., Crossett. Criminal Investigator Rob Fuller, along with officers Donnie Crow and Bobby Childs, went to the Arkansas Street address and saw him sitting in a chair near the front door of the house. Beverly was taken into custody without incident and taken to the Crossett, Arkansas Police Department.

According to the report, Arkansas police searched Beverly and found four rocks of crack cocaine in a clear, plastic cigarette wrapper.
